Solvent-based polyurethane – extremely hard wearing finish
Solvent-based or moisture-cured polyurethane is a commonly used product for timber floors that need a high level of finish and are able to withstand greater levels of foot traffic. The thicker coatings that this type of polyurethane finish can create a look of depth in the timber colour and grain. Solvent-based polyurethane gives off a much stronger smell and takes longer to dry than water borne polyurethane.
Water-based polyurethane – more environmentally friendly
